The AWE 0FG is available in two exit configurations to match the two factory bumper styles on the T1-platform GM full-size SUVs:

• Side exit (this listing — 3015-32008): Dual 4.5" chrome silver tips exit through openings in the side of the rear bumper. For vehicles with a flat rear bumper — no factory cutouts. The side exit configuration delivers a clean, aggressive look without requiring bumper modification.
• Split rear exit (separate listing): Quad 4.5" tips exit below the rear bumper through factory cutout openings. For vehicles with factory bumper cutouts. A more traditional truck exhaust look.

Construction — 3" T304L Stainless

AWE builds the 0FG from U.S.-sourced T304L stainless steel with .065" wall thickness — the “L” (low-carbon) grade provides better weld quality and corrosion resistance compared to standard T304, important for the salt and road chemical exposure a daily-driven full-size SUV sees in Canadian and northern US climates. The 3" diameter piping is CNC mandrel-bent throughout — mandrel bending maintains full circular cross-section through every bend rather than collapsing the tube, preserving exhaust flow area at every direction change. All fabrication is completed in-house at AWE’s Pennsylvania facility.

Sound — Mid Muffler + Resonator Combination

AWE engineers the 0FG’s tone using a mid muffler and resonator in combination rather than a single muffler at the rear. This two-stage approach allows independent tuning of the exhaust note’s character (muffler) and highway drone suppression (resonator):

• Mid muffler: Shapes the overall exhaust tone — the deep, rich V8 character AWE targets for the 5.3L EcoTec3.
• Resonator: Targets specific exhaust pulse frequencies associated with cabin drone at highway cruising RPM — a common complaint on straight-through or minimally-muffled truck exhausts. The resonator allows the 0FG to sound aggressive under acceleration while remaining liveable at steady highway speeds.

4.5" Double-Walled Chrome Silver Tips

The 0FG side exit configuration exits through two 4.5" double-walled stainless tips in chrome silver finish. The double-wall construction insulates the outer tip surface from exhaust heat, reducing visible heat discolouration over time and maintaining the chrome silver finish. 4.5" is a substantial tip diameter that suits the scale of a full-size SUV without appearing oversized.

Fits 2021–present T1-platform GMC Suburban, GMC Yukon XL, Chevrolet Tahoe, and Chevrolet Suburban equipped with the 5.3L L84 EcoTec3 V8. Both standard and XL wheelbase variants are covered.
