SwitchPath™ Valved System

SwitchPath is AWE’s valved exhaust technology — the system retains full integration with the Mach 1’s factory active exhaust valving, drive modes, and programmable steering wheel buttons. In Quiet/Normal mode the valves manage sound to a refined, composed tone. In Sport/Track mode or at hard throttle, the valves open fully and the 5.0L’s character is completely unleashed. Unlike an aftermarket bypass that locks the exhaust in one mode, SwitchPath gives you the full range from daily-driver refinement to full-open performance sound with the same system — at the push of a button or on hard throttle automatically.

Full 3” T304L Stainless Construction

The entire system is constructed from US-sourced .065”-wall T304L stainless steel — a low-carbon grade of 304 stainless with superior weld quality and long-term corrosion resistance compared to aluminised steel or lower-grade stainless. All engineering, design, and manufacturing is done in-house at AWE’s facility in Pennsylvania. Modular inlet design includes slip-fit adapters for seamless integration with the factory headers, plus a dual 3” connection option for builds adding aftermarket headers.

H-Pipe and Resonators

AWE uses a precision H-pipe rather than an X-pipe configuration. The H-pipe produces a deep, rich muscle car tone — the broad, throaty character the 5.0L is known for — with significantly less mid-range rasp than an X-pipe delivers. Straight-through bullet-style resonators in the mid pipes further reduce rasp, making the system liveable at cruise and on long highway runs while delivering full aggression under load. This tuning is particularly relevant for builds planning future header upgrades, where mid-pipe resonator placement becomes important for managing resonance.

Quad 5” Diamond Black Tips

Finished with four 5” slash-cut double-walled tips in Diamond Black — a dark matte/satin black finish that complements dark and shadow exterior colour packages. Double-wall construction insulates the outer tip surface from exhaust heat, maintaining the finish and preventing discolouration from thermal cycling.
