Brian Crower I-Beam Mid-Weight Connecting Rods – Honda K24 | 5.985″ | ARP2000 | Set of 4 | BC6055
Set of 4 rods — complete set for the K24 4-cylinder. These are stock-stroke replacement rods (5.985″ center-to-center) — not for stroker combinations. Confirm your K24 variant and piston pin diameter before ordering.
These rods require professional engine building, precision measurement, and correct rod bolt installation torque. Incorrect installation will result in rod failure and catastrophic engine damage.
Brian Crower BC6055 I-Beam Mid-Weight connecting rods for the Honda K24. 5.985″ center-to-center, ARP2000 rod bolts, set of 4. Engineered for high-power naturally aspirated and turbocharged K24 builds including K-swap applications. 15 lbs. Ships fast across Canada and the US.
Brian Crower I-Beam Mid-Weight — Performance Balanced
The Mid-Weight designation positions the BC6055 between Brian Crower’s standard I-beam and EXTREME series. Mid-Weight rods use optimised material removal to reduce reciprocating mass below the OEM rod weight for improved high-RPM response and reduced bearing loading, while retaining the tensile and compressive strength required for high-boost and high-cylinder-pressure applications. The I-beam cross-section provides excellent fatigue resistance under cyclic loading, making these rods well suited to the K24’s operating range in both naturally aspirated VTEC and turbocharged configurations. The BC6055 is the correct hardware tier for K24 builds targeting 400–600+ hp where maximum strength-to-weight ratio is not required at the cost of the EXTREME spec.
ARP2000 Rod Bolts
ARP2000 chromoly steel rod bolts are rated at approximately 220,000 psi tensile strength — well above the OEM Honda rod bolt specification and appropriate for the power targets the BC6055 is designed for. ARP2000 bolts are installed to a published torque specification using ARP assembly lubricant; unlike ARP Custom Age 625+, stretch measurement is not required for ARP2000, making installation more straightforward for experienced engine builders. Use only ARP’s published torque values and assembly lubricant — substituting aftermarket lubricants or engine oil changes the torque-to-preload relationship and will result in incorrect clamping load.
5.985″ Center-to-Center — Stock-Stroke K24
The 5.985″ (152.0mm) rod length matches the OEM K24 connecting rod length, making the BC6055 a direct drop-in replacement for the stock rod in a standard-stroke K24 rebuild. No crankshaft or piston compression height changes are required beyond sourcing pistons appropriate for the rod’s pin diameter and the specific K24 variant being built. Buyers building a stroked K24 combination should confirm the required rod length for their stroker crank before ordering.
Honda K24 Platform — Including K-Swap Builds
The K24 is Honda’s 2.4L inline-4 DOHC i-VTEC engine, found in the Accord, TSX, CR-V, and Element across multiple generations. The K24 block is also widely used in K-swap and K24/K20 hybrid engine builds — pairing the K24’s longer stroke and larger displacement with a K20 cylinder head (typically a K20A2, K20A, or K20Z3 head) for improved power output over either engine alone. K24 rods are a key upgrade in both pure K24 turbo builds and K24/K20 hybrid combinations where the stock rods become the limiting factor at elevated boost or power levels.
K-Swap and K24/K20 Hybrid Compatibility
Buyers building K-swap or K24/K20 hybrid engines should confirm the BC6055’s small-end pin diameter and compression height are compatible with their chosen pistons for the specific K24 block variant and K20 head combination being used. Different K24 variants (K24A1, K24A2, K24Z3, etc.) may have slightly different specifications — verify fitment with Brian Crower or your engine builder before ordering.
Professional Engine Building Required
Connecting rod installation requires an experienced engine builder with access to precision measuring equipment. Big-end bearing clearance, small-end pin fit, and rod side clearance must be confirmed before assembly. Rod bolts must be torqued to ARP’s published specification for ARP2000 hardware using ARP assembly lubricant. These are not DIY installation components.
Set of 4 — full K24 set. Stock-stroke application — confirm rod length for stroker builds. Torque ARP2000 bolts to ARP’s published spec using ARP assembly lubricant only. Confirm K24 variant and piston pin compatibility before ordering for K-swap applications. Professional engine building required.
