The do88 LF-200-S replaces the entire OEM airbox assembly and intake tract from the filter element through to the turbocharger inlet. The system consists of a large-diameter mandrel-bent aluminium intake pipe, a high-flow cone air filter, black silicone couplers at each connection point, clamps, and all required mounting hardware. Unlike a drop-in panel filter replacement that retains the OEM airbox, the do88 intake provides an unrestricted flow path with a larger filter surface area and reduced intake piping restriction — meaningful improvements at elevated power levels where the OEM airbox becomes a flow bottleneck.

Intake Air Temperature and Routing

The do88 intake system is routed to draw cooler ambient air rather than hot underhood air — an important factor on a turbocharged engine where lower pre-turbo intake air temperature results in denser charge air entering the compressor, improving the turbo’s efficiency and reducing post-intercooler charge temperatures at equivalent boost pressures. On the G16E-GTS, which is highly sensitive to intake and charge temperatures at higher boost levels, keeping pre-turbo IATs as low as possible is a meaningful advantage on hot days or during sustained hard driving.
