- 2002–2007 Subaru WRX: requires a separate STI-compatible Y-pipe.
- 2004–2021 Subaru WRX STI: verify the existing Y-pipe and hose configuration.
- 2004–2008 Subaru Forester XT: requires a separate STI-compatible Y-pipe; 2004–2005 models also require an STI bypass valve and recirculation hose.
These applications do not establish compatibility with 2008+ WRX or FA20DIT/FA24 WRX models. Confirm fitment separately for engine swaps, aftermarket turbochargers and modified bypass-valve or intake connections.
Package and Installation Notes
This listing is for the black coated top mount intercooler. The Y-pipe kit and hood-scoop splitter are not included. Do not assume a replacement bypass valve, recirculation hose or complete hose-and-clamp package is supplied.
Follow GrimmSpeed's installation instructions. Check mounting alignment, hood clearance, airflow coverage from the hood scoop, hose engagement and bypass-valve sealing. Inspect the finished charge-air system for leaks. Discuss calibration requirements with your tuner for the complete modification package; no specific power gain, temperature reduction or knock-prevention result is guaranteed.
