Why the AERO6 for the B8 Audi

The B8 Audi A4/A5/S5 uses a relatively large, heavy platform — and the factory brake system is sized accordingly for OEM use. For spirited street driving the factory brakes are adequate; for track days, extended mountain passes, or any sustained high-speed braking, the factory system’s thermal capacity becomes the limitation. Brake fade on the B8 is a function of rotor mass and caliper design — the factory single-piston floating caliper design does not distribute pad load evenly across the rotor surface, and factory rotor mass is limited. The AERO6 addresses both: six pistons of staggered diameter distribute clamping force evenly across a larger pad area, and the larger directional vane rotor provides significantly more thermal mass and airflow to dissipate heat before fade onset.
