Extended Length — Wheel Spacer Requirement

Extended wheel studs are required when running wheel spacers. A spacer adds material thickness between the hub face and the wheel — the lug nut must thread past the full spacer thickness before engaging the wheel. OEM-length studs may not provide sufficient exposed thread for the minimum engagement depth required for safe clamping force. Extended studs provide the additional length needed to maintain proper thread engagement through the spacer and lug nut stack. As a baseline, maintain a minimum of 1x stud diameter (12mm) of thread engagement beyond the spacer face.

M12x1.5 — Lexus / Toyota Thread Pitch

These platforms use M12x1.5 thread pitch — the standard for Lexus and Toyota performance platforms on 5x114.3. This is a coarser pitch than the M12x1.25 used on Nissan/Infiniti RWD platforms — lug nuts must be M12x1.5. Using incorrect-pitch lug nuts will cause cross-threading and stud damage. Confirm lug nut thread pitch before installing.

Press-In Installation

ARP studs press into the existing hub stud holes, replacing the factory studs. Installation can be done with a hydraulic press or by using the draw-in method: thread an M12x1.5 lug nut onto the stud, stack flat washers to bridge the hub face, and tighten the lug nut to draw the stud knurl into the hub bore. Do not hammer studs in — the knurl must be drawn in squarely to seat correctly and avoid hub bore damage.
