MLS Head Gasket Installation

Have the head and block checked for flatness and the required surface finish before assembly. Cometic recommends smooth, flat, true sealing surfaces with a finish of 50 Ra or finer for its MLS head gaskets. Install the MLS head gasket dry, without additional spray sealant or coatings.

Cometic does not recommend its MLS head gaskets for cylinder-bore O-ring or receiver-groove arrangements. Follow the head-bolt or stud manufacturer's torque specifications and the applicable engine assembly sequence. Choose gasket bore and thickness for the measured engine build rather than treating nominal dimensions as a substitute for clearance checks.
