The XT-005R is Cosmis’s flow-formed evolution of the original XT-005 — stronger and lighter than a purely cast equivalent at the same size, with the same aggressive spoke and machined lip aesthetic.

XT-005R Design

The XT-005R uses a 5-spoke layout with milled spoke faces — the machining removes material from the spoke surface to create a refined, textured face. The defining finish detail is the machined lip — the outer barrel lip is machined to bare aluminium, creating a bright contrast ring against the gloss black spoke face. This two-tone effect is the XT-005R’s signature visual element. The gloss black finish covers the spoke faces and inner barrel; the machined lip provides the contrast.

Flow-Formed Construction

The XT-005R barrel is flow-formed — the wheel starts as a cast aluminium blank, then the barrel is formed under heat and pressure, stretching the aluminium and aligning the grain structure. The result is a barrel with the strength and weight characteristics closer to a forged wheel than a purely cast one — stronger and lighter than a standard cast barrel of equivalent size. The spoke face remains cast. Flow forming is a meaningful manufacturing upgrade over standard casting at this price point.

Fitment Notes

18x9 at +25 is a moderately aggressive fitment — the wheel face sits outboard of the mounting surface but less aggressively than a very low offset like +10 or +15. On most 5x114.3 platforms at stock or mild ride height, 18x9 +25 will produce a flush to slightly aggressive stance. Common 5x114.3 platforms:
