Why Solid Diff Mount Bushings

The factory differential mount bushings are rubber — designed to isolate drivetrain vibration and NVH from the cabin for everyday driving comfort. Under hard acceleration, braking, or cornering, this rubber compliance allows the differential to move slightly within its mounting cradle. On a performance or drift build, this movement manifests as wheel hop — the rapid, uncontrolled bouncing of the driven wheels under hard acceleration that breaks traction, stresses drivetrain components, and makes power delivery unpredictable. It also introduces a lag between throttle input and rear wheel response as the diff shifts position before transferring load.
