SFI 16.1 Certification
The 747007RQP is certified to SFI 16.1 — the US-based racing harness standard administered by the SFI Foundation and widely required by North American sanctioning bodies including SCCA, NASA, and most regional club racing organisations. Key SFI certification requirements:

CAMLOCK Buckle — Aluminium Alloy
The central CAMLOCK buckle is constructed from lightweight aluminium alloy. The cam mechanism provides precise spring pressure for positive engagement feel. To unlock, rotate the lever 45 degrees left or right — releasing all belt attachment points simultaneously for rapid egress. The buckle remains attached to the right-side lap belt when unlatched for ease of re-engagement. All hardware is drop-forged steel with 3-bar slides for secure webbing retention.
Pull-Up Lap Configuration
This harness uses a pull-up lap belt design — to tighten the lap belt, pull the lap belt ends toward the cam buckle. This is the opposite tightening direction from pull-down CAMLOCK harnesses. Pull-up configuration is a personal preference choice — neither is inherently safer, but it’s important to know which type you are purchasing to ensure correct installation and tightening technique. The lap belt adjusts from 30 to 70 inches.
6-Point Configuration — Belt Dimensions
- Shoulder belts: 3-inch wide, reducing to 2-inch above the shoulder adjusters for comfort against the neck. Adjustable 25–72 inches. Double adjustable ends — wrap-around or bolt-in mounting.

HNR / HANS Device Compatibility
The 747007RQP shoulder belts are designed for use with a Head and Neck Restraint (HNR) device, commonly known as a HANS device. The shoulder belts connect to the HANS tethers to limit forward head movement in a frontal impact. HNR/HANS use is strongly recommended and is mandatory in many sanctioning bodies for harness-equipped vehicles. Confirm your helmet has HANS clip provisions when pairing with this harness.
Mounting Requirements
This harness must be mounted to a roll cage or dedicated harness bar using the double-adjustable bolt-in or wrap-around hardware ends. It is not designed for and should not be installed using factory OEM seat belt mounting points, which are positioned and rated for OEM belt geometry only. Correct harness mounting angle is critical for harness performance in a crash — follow RaceQuip’s installation instructions for correct mounting geometry.
