This bracket is engineered for the European-market Mini Cooper R50/R52/R53 floor mounting points and seat rail geometry. The US-market (USDM) Mini Cooper uses different floor mounting points and requires a different Sparco base. Installing this bracket in a USDM Mini Cooper will result in incorrect seat positioning and may not allow proper seat installation. Confirm your vehicle’s market specification before ordering.
Sparco’s vehicle-specific seat mounting base for the 2002+ Mini Cooper R50/R52/R53 — left side (driver side in LHD/European configuration). Mounts directly to the European-market Mini Cooper’s factory floor points and accepts Sparco racing seats via the standard Sparco seat mounting interface. Allows installation of a Sparco fixed-back or reclining racing seat in the driver’s position without modification to the vehicle floor.
What the Sparco Base System Is
Sparco racing seats are universal — the seat itself does not mount directly to any specific vehicle. The Sparco Base system provides the vehicle-specific lower mounting interface: the base bracket bolts to the factory seat rail mounting points in the floor, and the Sparco seat bolts to the base using Sparco’s standard seat mounting pattern. This two-piece system allows one Sparco seat model to be used across many different vehicles by pairing it with the appropriate vehicle-specific base. The correct base is critical — an incorrectly specified base will not locate the seat at the correct height and lateral position, and may not provide the structural integrity required for safe seat installation.
