PTFE / Stainless Construction

Goodridge brake lines use a PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) inner liner bonded within a stainless steel outer braid. PTFE is chemically inert — it does not absorb brake fluid, swell, or degrade with heat cycles. The stainless outer braid prevents the hose from expanding radially under brake line pressure — which is the primary cause of spongy pedal feel in rubber brake hoses. Rubber hoses flex outward slightly under pressure, absorbing some of the hydraulic input before it reaches the caliper piston. Stainless braided lines eliminate this expansion, delivering more of the pedal input directly to the calipers for a firmer, more linear, and more consistent pedal feel. Under repeated hard braking (track days, spirited driving, mountain roads), stainless lines maintain consistent pedal feel where rubber hoses can become progressively spongier as heat builds.

Direct-Fit Kit — S13 240SX ABS

Goodridge’s 22061 kit is purpose-built for the S13 240SX ABS brake system — hose lengths, end fittings, and banjo bolt specifications are matched to the factory ABS-equipped brake line routing. The kit replaces all flexible brake hose sections (front and rear) — the factory rigid hard lines remain in place. This is not a universal hose — it is a vehicle-specific, direct-fit replacement kit.

ABS vs Non-ABS

The S13 240SX was available with and without ABS depending on trim level and market. The ABS and non-ABS variants use different brake line routing and hose lengths — this kit (22061) is for ABS-equipped cars only. Confirm your S13 is ABS-equipped before ordering. A separate Goodridge kit number applies to non-ABS S13 240SX models.
