Brian Crower I-Beam EXTREME Connecting Rods – Nissan SR20DET | 5.366″ | ARP Custom Age 625+ | Set of 4 | BC6206

Set of 4 rods — complete set for the SR20DET 4-cylinder. These are stock-stroke replacement rods (5.366″ center-to-center) — not for stroker builds. Confirm your SR20DET stroke configuration before ordering.

These rods require professional engine building, precision measurement, and correct installation torque. Incorrect rod bolt torque or installation procedure will result in rod failure and catastrophic engine damage.

Brian Crower BC6206 I-Beam EXTREME connecting rods for the Nissan SR20DET. 5.366″ center-to-center length, ARP Custom Age 625+ rod bolts. Set of 4. Designed for high-boost, high-RPM SR20DET builds targeting serious power outputs. 7 lbs. Ships fast across Canada and the US.

Brian Crower I-Beam EXTREME — Top-Tier Rod Construction

The EXTREME designation is Brian Crower’s highest-specification connecting rod line. EXTREME rods use a proprietary ultra-high-strength billet steel alloy with more aggressive weight-reduction machining and tighter dimensional tolerances than BC’s standard I-Beam series. The result is a rod with a higher strength-to-weight ratio — better inertia characteristics at high RPM without sacrificing the tensile and compressive strength required to survive repeated high-boost combustion events. The I-beam cross-section profile is optimised for the SR20DET’s operating envelope, providing excellent fatigue resistance under the combined high-RPM and high-cylinder-pressure loading of a boosted 4-cylinder application.

ARP Custom Age 625+ Rod Bolts

ARP Custom Age 625+ (CA625+) is ARP’s top-tier rod bolt material — a nickel-chromium superalloy originally developed for aerospace applications. CA625+ provides a higher tensile strength and superior fatigue resistance compared to ARP 2000 and L19 steel bolts, and critically, maintains its clamping load more consistently across thermal cycles and repeated high-load events. Rod bolt fatigue is a real failure mode in high-boost, high-RPM applications where cylinder pressure spikes impose extreme tensile loading on the rod bolts thousands of times per minute. Specifying CA625+ hardware in the BC6206 reflects the power targets these rods are built for — buyers building at this level should not downgrade the fasteners.

5.366″ Center-to-Center — Stock-Stroke SR20DET

The 5.366″ (136.3mm) center-to-center rod length is a direct replacement for the OEM SR20DET rod length, making the BC6206 a drop-in rod upgrade for a standard-stroke SR20DET rebuild — no crankshaft or piston changes required beyond sourcing appropriate pistons for the rod’s pin diameter and compression height. This is not a stroker rod; buyers building a long-stroke SR20DET combination should confirm the required rod length for their specific stroker crank before ordering.

SR20DET Platform

The Nissan SR20DET is a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 used across Nissan’s S-chassis lineup — S13 Silvia and 180SX, S14 Silvia and 200SX, S15 Silvia — as well as the Pulsar GTI-R. It is one of the most widely built and supported 4-cylinder engines in the JDM tuning, drift, and time attack communities. A fully built SR20DET with quality rods, pistons, bearings, a larger turbo, and supporting fuel and management upgrades is capable of 500–700+ hp on pump or E85 fuel. The connecting rods are one of the primary limiting components on the stock SR20DET at elevated power — replacing them with EXTREME-spec rods removes this limitation from the drivetrain.

Professional Engine Building Required

Connecting rod installation requires an experienced engine builder with access to a torque angle gauge, precision bore gauge, and plastigauge or equivalent for clearance verification. Rod bolt stretch must be measured to specification using ARP’s published values for CA625+ hardware — torque-to-spec alone is insufficient for CA625+ bolts, which require stretch measurement for correct preload. Big-end bearing clearance, small-end pin fit, and rod side clearance must all be confirmed before assembly. These are not DIY installation components.

Set of 4 — full SR20DET set. Stock-stroke application only — confirm rod length for stroker builds. ARP CA625+ hardware — use ARP assembly lubricant, torque to ARP’s published specification for CA625+, and verify bolt stretch. Professional engine building required. Confirm bearing clearances, pin fit, and side clearance before assembly.
