Energy Suspension Hyper-Flex Rear Strut Rod Bushing Set – Corvette C4 1984–1996 | Black | 3.7108G
Fits 1984–1996 Chevrolet Corvette C4, all variants. Confirm model year before ordering. Polyurethane — firmer than OEM rubber with increased NVH transmission.
Energy Suspension 3.7108G Hyper-Flex polyurethane rear strut rod bushing set for the C4 Corvette. Replaces the OEM rubber strut rod bushings that deflect under cornering, braking, and hard acceleration loads — allowing rear wheel toe and camber to shift away from alignment spec. The Hyper-Flex poly bushing maintains rear suspension geometry more precisely under load, improving rear end stability, cornering consistency, and brake feel. Black. 0.8 lbs. Ships fast across Canada and the US.
Why Replace C4 Rear Strut Rod Bushings
The C4 Corvette’s independent rear suspension uses strut rods to locate the rear uprights laterally and longitudinally. The OEM rubber bushings at the ends of these rods are designed to absorb road noise and vibration — which they do by allowing the bushing to deflect under load. Under hard cornering, braking, or abrupt stops, this deflection causes the rear wheels to move away from their static alignment position: toe changes, camber shifts, and the rear end becomes less predictable. On performance tires with high lateral grip, this deflection is more pronounced because the tires generate higher loads before breaking traction. The result is the rear wheel “roll-under” and instability that C4 owners commonly experience as vagueness or a stepped-out rear under hard driving.
Hyper-Flex Polyurethane
Energy Suspension’s Hyper-Flex polyurethane is significantly stiffer than OEM rubber, dramatically reducing bushing deflection under load. The rear suspension geometry stays closer to its static alignment setting through cornering, braking, and acceleration events — giving the driver more consistent and predictable rear end behaviour. The tradeoff is increased NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) transmission into the cabin compared to OEM rubber: poly bushings do not absorb road texture and impact noise as effectively. For a dedicated performance or track-use C4, this is an acceptable tradeoff. For a daily-driven C4 prioritising comfort, the increased road feel should be considered before ordering.
C4 Corvette Fitment — 1984–1996
Fits all C4 Corvette variants from 1984 through 1996, including base coupe and convertible, Z51, Z07, LT1, and ZR-1. All C4 variants share the same rear suspension architecture. Confirm model year before ordering.
Polyurethane — increased NVH vs OEM rubber. Lubricate bushings with Energy Suspension’s supplied poly lube during installation — do not use petroleum-based grease. Professional installation recommended. Alignment check recommended after installation.
