5×100 — GD and GR WRX Specific

The 2002–2014 Subaru WRX uses the 5×100 bolt pattern across both the GD/GG generation (2002–2007, bugeye and hawkeye) and the GR/GH generation (2008–2014). The WRX did not switch to 5×114.3 until the 2015 VA generation. The STI moved to 5×114.3 earlier, from 2005. These two bolt patterns are not interchangeable — a 5×100 spacer will not fit a 5×114.3 hub, and vice versa. Confirm your WRX is a 2014 or older before ordering this kit; 2015+ WRX owners need the 5×114.3 variant.

Hub-Centric Design

GrimmSpeed’s spacers use a hub-centric bore matched to the WRX hub register (56.1mm), locating the spacer on the hub itself rather than relying on the wheel studs to centre the assembly. Hub-centric fitment eliminates the runout and vibration at speed that lug-centric spacers introduce. The spacer bore must be confirmed against the hub diameter of your specific vehicle — GrimmSpeed’s application-specific design pre-matches this for the GD and GR WRX hub.

15mm — Track Width and Fitment

At 15mm per side, these spacers push each wheel face outward by 15mm, widening total track width by 30mm. On the GD and GR WRX, 15mm is a well-balanced increment — enough to bring aftermarket wheels closer to flush fitment with the fender lip without the risk of rubbing on most tyre and wheel combinations. Verify clearance against your specific wheel width, offset, and tyre size at full steering lock before committing to this thickness.

Extended Studs — Safety Critical

A 15mm spacer reduces the available thread engagement of the factory wheel studs. The factory studs are sized for the wheel to sit directly on the hub — with a 15mm spacer in place, stud engagement through the spacer and into the wheel nut must be verified. Extended wheel studs must be fitted to restore safe thread engagement. Confirm whether this kit includes extended studs or source and install them separately before driving on these spacers.
