3-Inch 2-Bolt Flange — The Aftermarket Standard
The 3-inch 2-bolt downpipe-to-catback flange is the most prevalent connection spec in the aftermarket performance exhaust space for Subaru and JDM-adjacent builds. Most aftermarket downpipes from GrimmSpeed, Invidia, Agency Power, Perrin, and similar brands terminate in a 3-inch 2-bolt outlet flange. Most aftermarket catback systems in the same ecosystem use a matching 3-inch 2-bolt inlet flange. This gasket seals that junction. Before ordering, confirm both your downpipe outlet and catback inlet are 3-inch 2-bolt — some catback systems use a 3-bolt or V-band connection instead.
When to Choose 2X Thick
The 2X thick gasket provides twice the compressed thickness of a standard-thickness downpipe-to-catback gasket. The standard thickness is appropriate for flange faces in good condition on a first or routine installation. The 2X thick 076001 is the correct choice when:
- Flange warping or surface damage: The downpipe outlet or catback inlet flange has developed a warp or surface irregularity from heat cycling, over-torquing, or mechanical damage that a standard gasket cannot bridge reliably.
- Repeat failure: A standard-thickness gasket has been installed and failed at the same location — an indicator that flange condition warrants the additional thickness.
