Paint washing removes loose surface dirt but does not remove bonded contaminants that embed in and above the clear coat over time — industrial fallout, ferrous rail dust, overspray, and mineral deposits. These contaminants cause the gritty, rough texture you feel when running a clean hand across washed paint, and they accelerate clear coat degradation if left in place. Universal Application
