What the Pitch Stop Mount Does

The pitch stop mount is the rear engine and transmission mount that controls fore-aft rocking (“pitching”) of the Subaru EJ or FA powertrain under load. Under hard acceleration, the engine and transmission assembly rocks rearward against this mount; under deceleration or lift-off, it rocks forward. The OEM pitch stop uses a soft rubber bushing that allows significant powertrain movement — felt as a lurch or delay in throttle response, vague or inconsistent shift feel, and reduced launch consistency. PERRIN’s pitch stop replaces the entire OEM assembly with a billet aluminium bracket and a firmer polyurethane bushing that dramatically reduces powertrain movement without fully eliminating compliance. The result is a more direct, consistent powertrain feel under all throttle conditions — one of the most immediately noticeable drivetrain improvements available for the WRX and STI platform at any price point.

Billet Aluminium Bracket — Blue Anodized

The PSP-DRV-105BL bracket is machined from billet aluminium and finished in blue anodize. The billet construction provides the structural rigidity needed to resist the powertrain loads that flex and fatigue the OEM stamped steel bracket over time on high-power applications. The blue anodized finish resists corrosion and engine bay fluid exposure, and complements blue-accented engine bay builds common on WRX and STI platforms. Polyurethane Bushing — NVH Tradeoff

The pitch stop bushing insert is polyurethane, which is significantly firmer than the OEM rubber unit. Firmer bushing material reduces powertrain movement more effectively but transmits more vibration and noise into the cabin compared to the OEM rubber — this is normal and expected for this type of drivetrain upgrade. On a street-driven WRX or STI, the NVH increase is noticeable but acceptable to most drivers. On a dedicated track car, it is a non-issue. If you are highly sensitive to drivetrain NVH on a daily-driven car, confirm the bushing specification with PERRIN before ordering.
