RaceQuip 6-Point FIA Camlock Harness | Pull-Down Lap | 2-Inch | FHR Compatible | Black | 855005RQP
RaceQuip 6-Point FIA Camlock Harness – Pull-Down Lap | 2-Inch | FHR Compatible | Black | 855005RQP
⚠️ NOT FOR STREET USE. RaceQuip racing harnesses are NOT DOT/FMVSS 209/302 certified and are not legal for use on public roads or highways. For closed-course motorsport use only. Shoulder belts must be mounted to a rollcage or dedicated harness bar at the correct geometry — do not mount to OEM anchor points without a cage or harness bar. FIA harnesses carry a 5-year homologation life from the manufacture date — confirm the tag date and your series’ age limits before purchasing. FHR/HANS device use is required by many sanctioning bodies when using a 6-point harness. One set = one seat.
RaceQuip 855005RQP FIA-certified 6-point camlock racing harness in Black. Pull-Down (PD) lap adjustment, 2-inch webbing throughout, FHR/HANS device compatible shoulder belt geometry. Aluminium alloy camlock buckle, dual anti-submarine leg straps, bolt-in or wrap-around mounting ends. 8.3 lbs. Ships fast across Canada and the US.
6-Point FIA Harness — Configuration
This is a 6-point harness: two shoulder belts, two lap belts, and two anti-submarine (sub) strap legs — all six terminating at a central FIA-spec camlock buckle. The two-leg sub strap is the defining feature of a 6-point over a 5-point harness — the split legs prevent the occupant from submarining forward under the lap belt in a frontal impact, maintaining correct belt geometry relative to the pelvis. This is a critical safety feature when using a FHR/HANS device, as the sub strap geometry directly affects how the lap belt restrains the pelvis and transmits loads during deceleration. Many FIA-sanctioned series require a 6-point harness when a FHR device is mandated. The aluminium alloy camlock buckle releases all six belts simultaneously with a 45-degree lever rotation for rapid emergency egress.
FIA Homologation
The 855005RQP carries FIA homologation, the international standard for motorsport harnesses required by FIA-affiliated series and most national-level circuit racing organisations (NASA Pro, SCCA Pro, and similar). FIA homologation subjects the harness to more stringent load testing and material requirements than the SFI 16.1 specification. FIA harnesses have a 5-year homologation life from the manufacture date stamped on the label. After this date, the harness cannot be used in FIA-sanctioned competition. Confirm the manufacture date on the harness label and your series’ rules on maximum harness age before purchasing. If you are buying for HPDE or club track days without FIA requirements, also confirm that FIA homologation (rather than SFI 16.1) is accepted by your event organiser.
FHR / HANS Device Compatibility
The 855005RQP is configured for use with a Frontal Head Restraint (FHR) device, commonly known as a HANS device. FHR-compatible harnesses use shoulder belt routing and anchor geometry designed to work correctly with the FHR collar and tethers — the shoulder belts must pass over the FHR device and load correctly against it in a frontal impact. If you are using or required to use a FHR device, this harness is the appropriate choice over a standard non-FHR harness. Confirm FHR device compatibility with your specific device manufacturer if in doubt.
Pull-Down Lap Belt (PD) — 2-Inch Webbing
The lap belt uses Pull-Down (PD) adjustment — pull the lap belt ends outward and downward away from the cam buckle to tighten. Confirm your seat and mounting geometry is compatible with pull-down adjustment before ordering. 2-inch webbing is used throughout the harness — narrower than the 3-inch webbing common on SFI harnesses, and lighter for longer stints. FIA homologation standards ensure the 2-inch webbing meets load and strength requirements through material quality and construction rather than width alone. All mounting hardware ends are double-adjustable and configurable for wrap-around or bolt-in mounting.
Installation Requirements
Shoulder belts must be anchored to a rollcage or dedicated harness bar at the correct height and angle for both harness geometry and FHR device compatibility. Incorrect shoulder belt angle can cause serious injury in a crash and will negate FHR device effectiveness. If your vehicle does not have a rollcage or harness bar, do not install this harness. Professional installation by a qualified fabricator familiar with FIA harness and FHR geometry requirements is strongly recommended.
For closed-course motorsport use only. NOT DOT/FMVSS 209/302 certified. Requires rollcage or harness bar. FIA homologation expires 5 years from manufacture date — check label. FHR/HANS device required by many series using 6-point harnesses — confirm your rules. One set = one seat. Available in Black (855005RQP) and other colours on separate listings.
