5-Point Camlock — Configuration

This is a 5-point harness: two shoulder belts, two lap belts, and one submarine (anti-sub/crotch) strap — all five terminating at a central camlock buckle. The camlock buckle is the motorsport standard for racing harnesses — all belts insert into the central disc mechanism and release simultaneously by rotating the lever 45 degrees (left or right), allowing rapid emergency egress compared to OEM push-button or lift-latch buckles. The aluminium alloy cam buckle provides precise spring pressure and positive lever feel at the 45-degree unlatch position. The cam buckle stays attached to the right lap belt when the harness is not in use.

Pull-Down Lap Belt (PD)

The 741001RQP uses Pull-Down (PD) lap belt adjustment — you pull the lap belt ends outward and downward away from the cam buckle to tighten. This is distinct from Pull-Up (PU) lap belt designs. PD geometry is suited to fixed bucket seat applications where the lap belt runs horizontally or slightly downward from the buckle to the mounting point. Installation Requirements

Shoulder belts on a 5-point harness must be anchored to a rollcage or a dedicated harness bar mounted behind the seat at the correct height and angle relative to the seat and occupant. Mounting shoulder belts to OEM seat belt anchor points or the rear seat pan without a cage or harness bar will result in incorrect shoulder belt geometry and can cause serious spinal compression injury in a frontal impact. If your vehicle does not have a rollcage or harness bar, do not install this harness. Professional installation by a qualified fabricator is strongly recommended.
