Clear Shield — When It’s the Right Choice

Clear is the standard shield and the highest-priority spare to carry. Within the RaceQuip PRO Series shield range:

• Clear (this listing): Maximum light transmission — no tint, no coating, no reduction in visible light. Correct for indoor karting tracks, night or twilight endurance sessions, overcast-day racing, and any condition where reducing available light would compromise visibility. Also the correct default for drivers who find tinted shields disorienting or who race across varied lighting conditions in a single event. Ships as the standard shield on most PRO Series helmets — this listing is the direct replacement for that factory shield.
• Blue Iridium (separate listing): Mirror coating for direct sunlight. Reduces glare and UV in bright outdoor conditions. Not for low-light or night use.
• Dark Smoke: Moderate tint, non-mirrored. Light reduction without reflective coating. For bright conditions where a full mirror is not desired.
• Amber: Contrast-enhancing tint for low-light and night racing. Improves target definition under artificial or fading natural light.

• Distortion-free optics: Optically flat across the full eye port. In the clear shield, optical quality is particularly critical — any distortion is immediately visible without the masking effect of tint or mirror coating. RaceQuip’s 3mm polycarbonate meets the Snell SA certification optical standard.
• High-strength polycarbonate: Impact-resistant material that deflects rather than shatters on debris contact. Polycarbonate is significantly stronger than acrylic and provides meaningful face and eye protection against gravel, debris, and contact.

Included Hardware

• Visor strip: Foam/rubber seal for the top edge of the shield, preventing gap airflow and dust infiltration at the shield-to-helmet interface. Always replace the visor strip when installing a new shield.
